Calming Bath Salts

I love making my own bath salts—it’s my way of relaxing tense muscles and easing aches. Honestly, the process of creating them is just as calming as using them. There’s something meditative about focusing on the textures and scents, just being in the moment. Then, when I finally sink into a warm bath and let those salts dissolve, it feels like pure bliss. It’s not just about softening my skin; it’s about taking time for myself, breathing, and letting go of the day’s stress. I’ve come to realize that these little self-care rituals are what keep me grounded.

Yields: 5 Cups
Equipment Needed: Large bowl, Spatula, Baking sheet, Foil

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain Epsom salt
  • 1.5 cups Dead Sea salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 20 drops essential oils of your choice (Lavender is my go-to)

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl using a spatula. Cover a baking sheet with foil and spread the salt mixture evenly in a thin layer.

Bake the salt at 200 – 225 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.

Let salt mixture cool completely.

Package them in air-tight glass jars.  You can use muslin or cellophane bags if using them right away.

Tip: Airtight jars in altitude can be volatile and may explode.
