Weather permitting, a porch can serve as another room . Living in California offers us the opportunity to use our porch for most of the year.

I like to create a space where the furniture can be moved around. Garden stools can double as tables, foot rests or accent pieces. A large ottoman is a great place to stretch your legs. Turn it into a table by placing a tray on it filled with your favorite snacks.

Treat the space as you would indoors. Bring in fresh cut flowers in outdoor-friendly vases, hang curtains, include lanterns, candles, lights and an outdoor source for music.
