Strawberry Orange Carrot Spinach Smoothie
What we eat at the beginning of our day is important. I like to start my day with vitamins and minerals. If I am not hungry enough to have solid food as well, I add protein powder so it will satisfy me until lunchtime. Here is one of my favorite smoothie recipes.
- 5 frozen strawberries
- 8 baby carrots
- Handful of baby spinach
- ½ – 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (store bought works too)
- 1-2 scoops Protein powder (I use Ancient Nutrition Brand)
If using a small bullet-like blender, add the frozen strawberries first so they will be at the top when you invert the container. Add the carrots, then orange juice, protein powder and spinach in that order.
If you are using a traditional blender, add the orange juice first, then the protein powder, spinach and carrots and frozen strawberries in that order.
For a thicker smoothie, use a half-cup of orange juice. If you want a thinner consistency, use the full cup of orange juice.
Cover with lid/base and blend until all ingredients are incorporated. Good morning!
Open supplements that are in gel caps and add the contents with the protein powder. You will have one less pill to swallow.
Whole frozen strawberries (10oz bag)
Baby carrots (16oz peeled or unpeeled)
Baby spinach (1 bag triple washed)
